Terms of Service

1. About Us

These Terms govern your access to and use of finecheck.cy (the “Site”) operated by K.I.A.B INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT CONSULTING LTD (“FineCheck”, “we”, “us”).

We provide an online lookup for Cyprus traffic camera fines and redirect users to official payment channels (e.g., JCCsmart). We are not affiliated with the Government of Cyprus, Cyprus Police, or JCC Payment Systems Ltd.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

3. Service Description and Limitations

• We provide a status lookup by querying official sources based on the vehicle plate number and ID/ARC/Passport/Company Registration Number you submit.
• Authorisation. By submitting your data, you authorise FineCheck to perform lookups on your behalf on the official portals of the Government of Cyprus (including the Speed Enforcement System/CyCameraSystem) and to redirect you to JCCsmart for payments.
• Recurring monitoring (optional). If you opt in, you authorise us to store your vehicle plate number and ID/ARC/Passport/Company Registration Number and run periodic re-checks for new/updated fines and to send notifications to the contacts you provide. You can disable monitoring at any time by contacting our support at support@finecheck.cy.
• Payment, if available, is completed through third-party providers (e.g., JCCsmart). We do not process card data.
• Information is sourced from official systems and may change or be temporarily unavailable. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of results.
• The Site does not provide legal advice. For legal queries, consult a qualified professional or the relevant authority.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal right to use the vehicle data you submit. You are responsible for ensuring that you are authorised to request a lookup for the relevant vehicle.

5. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information and use the Site lawfully.
• Not attempt to scan, scrape, or reverse engineer the Site or connected systems.
• Not misuse the Site to interfere with others or overload our infrastructure.
• Respect intellectual property and privacy rights.

6. Fees and Payments

• Website (finecheck.cy): The lookup service is free. We do not sell subscriptions or paid features on the Site. When you choose to pay a government fine, you are redirected to JCCsmart; we do not charge a fee for the lookup or for redirection, and we do not process or store card details.
• Mobile apps: Paid Monitoring is available only in our mobile apps. See Section 6A for in-app subscription terms.

6A. Monitoring and Notifications (opt-in; in-app subscription only)

• By enabling Monitoring in our mobile apps, you consent to storage of your vehicle plate number and ID/ARC/Passport/Company Registration Number and to periodic re-checks and notifications (email/push). You can cancel at any time by contacting support at support@finecheck.cy. Cancellation stops further checks and notifications.
• Fees (in-app only). Monitoring may be offered as an in-app purchase/subscription. The price, billing period, and currency (including VAT where applicable) will be clearly shown in the app (e.g., Apple App Store/Google Play) before you confirm.
• Billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds. For in-app subscriptions, billing/renewal/cancellation/refunds are handled by the respective app store and your platform account settings; store terms and policies apply. We do not receive or store your card details for in-app purchases.
• Right of withdrawal (EU/Cyprus consumers). You have a 14-day statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract. For in-app purchases, the withdrawal/refund process is handled by the relevant app store under its policies; statutory EU rights apply to the extent relevant. If you request Monitoring to start immediately, you expressly request early performance and acknowledge that a pro-rata charge may apply up to the time of withdrawal (as implemented by the app store).
• We will stop Monitoring and delete stored monitoring data upon your deletion request, subject to our legal obligations (e.g., accounting/tax record-keeping).

7. Intellectual Property

The Site and its content (including trademarks, logos, graphics, and software) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and use the Site for personal, lawful purposes.

8. Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business, arising from or related to your use of the Site.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so under Cyprus/EU consumer law (including, where applicable, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct or gross negligence). This does not affect your statutory rights.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. The courts of Cyprus shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.

13. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

These Terms, together with the Privacy and Cookies Policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we update the policy, we will revise the "Last updated" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page regularly for any changes.
